Repurposed, upcycled and just downright gorgeous! I am so inspired by Courtney & Christina of whiteowl who use many vintage and thrifted materials in their genius lace jewellery creations. Here is what they say about their creative process:
"We are two sisters who love vintage and appreciate handmade things. Together we have been making lace jewelry and eclectic statement jewelry since 2007. We have collaborated on everything from films to photographs to art, and we draw our inspiration from these interactions as well as the actual materials that we use to create our jewelry.
Many of our materials are rescued from estate sales, flea markets and even our own Grandmother. It's important to us to try to use vintage and re-purposed materials as much as we can, but we also love the mix of old and new.
Combined backgrounds in art and film have influenced and inspired our work... creating a balance between past and future, feminine and avant garde."
